Play backgammon against the computer

A computer opponent that is good company: Easy while you learn, Normal when you want a real game.

Two levels

Normal judges every legal play by the position it leaves: the race, the points made, the checkers left open to a hit, primes and the home board. It also decides when to double and when to take or pass a double.

Easy uses the same judgement with deliberate mistakes mixed in, so you win more often while you learn what good moves look like.

It plays on your device

The computer runs in your browser, so a game starts instantly and keeps going without a connection. Its moves are shown one checker at a time, so you can follow what it did.

How to start

Press Play the computer, choose Easy or Normal, pick a single game or a match length, and decide whether to use the doubling cube. The opening roll decides who moves first.
